The Tale Of a Newt, Who Became Happy

The little joy-filled happy newt,

Once known for his depression,

Was happy now, oh yes he was,

He'd learnt a happy lesson!

You see, what had upset him most,

What drove him mad, they said,

Was that strange old frog, with purple spots,

And an oddly bulbous head.

The newt had once been friends with frog,

He didn't used to hate him,

Until one day, the frog ate a fly.

It did it just to spite him.

You see, the newt once was a fly,

In a past life, so he said,

Believed that after he was swatted,

He came back from the dead!

So the newt had cried for many nights,

The frog was cruel, and vile,

But the newt decided he'd just play nice,

He'd live with it for a while.

The newt put on a brave brave face,

He was able to fake a smile,

And he formed a plan to kill the frog,

Oh, he'd go out with style!

For many weeks the newt still cried,

This was all just far too much,

And so, at last, he did the deed,

Which wasn't murder, as such.

Newt hired a man, who had some straws,

And the lung size of a cow,

Who went about the nasty business,

...the froggy went KERPLOW!

Bits of the frog went everwhere,

Which wasn't very nice,

Newt would have to clean that up,

But he was willing to pay that price.

And the newt had learnt his lesson well,

He smiled much more, and joked,

His life was like a daydream,

Once that nasty frog had croaked.
